Bob and I met at age six, in the first grade in Shreveport.  Soon our parents moved further away from each other, but Bob and I continued as friends; we both graduated from Byrd High School in 1960.  During those years we, as most friends do, shared many positive and negative life experiences.  We liked and were interested in the same things: cars, pool tables, golf, vinyl records and audio equipment.  Bob even built his own loudspeakers from a kit; they sounded very good and would compare to some of the best sounding speakers today.
After attending college in Shreveport, Bob married Ellen, moved to New Orleans, and both became schoolteachers.  I went to college in Baton Rouge and Fayetteville, AR and kicked around until I settled on a real estate career some years later.  Bob was a part of my first wedding in 1968 and was best man in my 1980 wedding to my second and present wife Marcie.
As fate would have it, I ended up in New Orleans around 1973.  Bob and I played golf, went to music concerts and shared many common interests in the years following.  And of course, Bob eventually became my CPA.
Losing my oldest friend of 71 years is very difficult.  It’s hard to accept he’s not around anymore.  So, Bob my friend, watch over me and remember our antics, I’ll see you on the “other side” when my time comes.
Ellen, you are constantly in Marcie’s and my thoughts; call on us any time.

Katie and I have thought of Bob so many times over the past few years. It is hard to know someone you knew and cared for so long is no longer with us.  Ellen and her family are in our thoughts and prayers.  We will always remember Bob as the friend we loved and enjoyed being with. God bless this gentle and loving man. 

I have thought of you often over the years. Thank you all for introducing me to Dell. May you Rest In Peace and join with your parents. God bless you Ellen.
