Robert Lee Harris

Robert L. “Uncle Bob” Harris entered peacefully into eternal rest on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015. He was 90 years old. Son of the late Samuel L. and Myrtle Dalton Harris. Beloved husband of the late Rose LaMarca Harris. Loving father of Melanie Harris Mary (Milton). Brother of the late Samuel L. Harris, Jr. and David John Harris. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Robert was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, and served during World War II in the Pacific. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0175. Robert worked in the air conditioning business for over 50 years, and was the first person to receive the lifetime achievement award from York International Air Conditioning.

Robert was a kind and loving soul who never turned anyone down in need of help. He will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:00AM.
