Robert “Bob” William Cisco died on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Lakeview Regional Hospital in Covington, LA. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Bob was born on May 3, 1937 in New Orleans to Estelle and Victor Cisco. He grew up in the Irish Channel and was a graduate of Redemptorist High School, class of 1955. In 1956, he was a founding member of TAK (Tap A Keg) Fraternity. He was a lifelong member of the Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Club and was celebrated as “Man of the Year” in 2015. In 1956, he went to work in the import/export business where he became the youngest licensed customs broker in the City. He founded Robert W. Cisco Customs Broker in 1980 where he was joined by his daughter, Sandra. He was a member of the World Trade Club, Traffic Club and served as President of the International Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers Association. He cherished many memories from his annual visits to Manresa House for over 40 years. Bob was an avid gardener, Home Depot Patron and golfer, with his crowning achievement – a hole in one on the 8th hole at Audubon Park! Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ellen; his children, Bruce (Colette), Sandra (Don), Bobby (Corinne) and Vic; his grandchildren, Casey (Alex), Colin (Renee), Corie, Cole, Caitlin, Sydney and Courtney (Dillon); and great grandson, Jase. Due to current restrictions, there will be a private gathering for his immediate family. Interment will be at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
