Renee David Miester Cable

Renee David Miester Cable passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. She is survived by her daughters Lucinda Cable Stentz and Janelle Helen Cable, her companion Steven Morck and 2 granddaughters Lauren Janelle Stentz and Leslie Olivia Stentz. She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice Marlin Cable and parents Alfred and Renee David Miester. Mrs. Cable was born in New Orleans on May 12, 1921 and was a lifetime resident of New Orleans. She was a graduate of Newcomb College and received a library science degree from LSU. She was a member of Phi Mu sorority and PanHellenic. She was employed by Charity Hospital and Oschner Foundation and American Insurance Agency. She was an active club member and was past president of the Lake Vista Woman’s Club, Cosmopolitan International, the New Orleans Woman’s Club, Lake Vista Garden Club, Southern Yacht Club, the Holiday Club, several carnival organizations and was a dedicated Girl Scout Leader for many years. In later life she was an avid Bridge player, traveled extensively and enjoyed her many collections.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice, preferred.
