Ray was a good, fair, intelligent and loving man with a great sense of humor and quick wit. He loved his family with his whole heart and soul. He loved to talk and engaged in conversation with everyone he met. Ray was liked by all who knew him and will be missed. He enjoyed reading, history, playing games, gardening, DIY projects, always reading handyman magazines. He spent much time taking care of his Koi-goldfish pond. He loved to take things apart and, in most cases, was able to fix them.
He served in the Louisiana National Guard for two years and worked at D.H. Holmes Department Store, as an Assistant Buyer/Buyer for many years. Before retirement he was in sales of wholesale furniture.
