Patricia Gertrude d’Aquin Schiro passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the age of 86. She was born on November 16, 1936, in New Orleans to the late Adolph Joseph d’Aquin and Amelia Traina d’Aquin. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Anthony Schiro, MD; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Schiro, Margaret S. Escousse, and sisters, Connie D. Boyles and Kathryn D. Guezuraga.
She is survived by her children, Michael Anthony Schiro (Courtney), Susan S. Bruno (Michael), and Paul Joseph Schiro; grandchildren, Meredith S. Lemoine (Nicolas), Nicholas Schiro (Caitlin), Bennett Schiro (Abigail), Thomas Escousse (Robin), Christopher Escousse, Katie Escousse, Angelo Bruno, Sofia Bruno, Isabel Schiro, and Mia Schiro; stepson, Ernest A. Schiro, Jr.; son-in-law, Brad Escousse; great-granddaughter, Lily Lemoine, and sister Beverly D. Stevens. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans on January 7, 2023, at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 12 noon.
