On Sunday, September 11, 2022, Patricia Henican McIntyre of New Orleans passed away at the age of 87. Pat was born on April 18, 1935, to Odette Charbonnet Henican and Joseph Patrick Henican, Jr. She is survived by one sister, Ann Henican Babington, but was preceded in death by her other sister, Beth Henican Durant (deceased). She lost her beloved husband, Robert “Bobby” Charbonnet McIntyre, in 2018, but is survived by their four children: Leslie Metarko (Thomas), Odette Hankins (Richard), Robert McIntyre, Jr. (Jacque), and William McIntyre II (Kathryn). Pat lived a full life, including her most important role as wife and mother. In her younger years, she was Queen of Rex in 1956, an honor which took on major significance for her and her family. After she married Bobby in 1957, she became a dedicated volunteer and fundraiser for Academy of the Sacred Heart, Holy Name of Jesus School, Jesuit High School, and WYES-TV, just to name a few. She was a vital contributor to the Junior League of New Orleans, serving as Treasurer, Chairman of the Plantation Cookbook Committee, and Chairman of the Thrift Shop.
Pat was an exceptional artist. Not only was she able to draw anything on paper, she was able to create magnificent quilts, make beautiful clothes, and knit sweaters and blankets for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also had a fulfilling career as a personal event planner. She began with her own catering company which led to her personal service company Personal Touch. Wedding consulting was her forte for years. Bobby joined Pat in 1984, and they began McIntyre Services. This venture was built on their zest for life and love of celebrating and entertaining.
