Patricia E. Coleman, “Miss Pat,” was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on October 22, 1945. She is the daughter of the late Clara Borst Coleman, born in Hoboken, New Jersey, and the late John Thomas Coleman, born in Jersey City, New Jersey and the sister of the late Eileen Coleman.
“Miss Pat” graduated from Hoboken Senior High School and from Montclair State University with a Biology degree. She began her professional career as a science teacher at Sacred Heart Academy in Hoboken, New Jersey. She then spent 25 years in Human Resources with Babcock and Wilcox/McDermott Company and moved to New Orleans, Louisiana.
As the Senior College Recruiting Representative, she travelled across the country and held leadership positions with a number of professional associations. She was President of the Louisiana Association of Colleges and Employers, Secretary and member of many committees for the Midwest Association and the Treasurer and committee member for many committees for the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers. She volunteered in the community in a number of ways.
After retiring from the McDermott Company, Miss Pat joined East Jefferson Wellness Center as a Member Services Representative.
Miss Pat never knew a stranger and made friends across the country. Many people considered her family and appreciated her kindness and generosity.
She is survived by members of the Borst and Coleman families. Miss Pat is also survived by many loving and dear friends.
A visitation will be held in Miss Pat’s honor from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. There will be a brief blessing and prayer by Fr. Robert T. Cooper to conclude the visitation. We do kindly ask that any guest in attendance please wear a face mask.
