Marie Knauer

Marie Mantel Knauer, 91 passed away on Wednesday, May 23,2018. She was born in Brewton, AL to her late parents John Henry Mantel and Jessie Mancil Mantel. Beloved wife to the late Earle Joseph Knauer, Sr. for 64 years. Sister of Mary Dutcher and the late Ida Bell Owens, Urban Ward, Myra Ward, Cleavie Stone, and George Mantel.

Loving mother to Rebecca Nuccio, (Phillip), Earle Joseph Knauer, Jr. (Monica), and the late Pamela Viberg (James). Proud grandmother of Jennifer Potera (Samuel), Amy Martinez (Giovanni), Kelly Sims (Timmy), Katie Banquer (Barry), Kristy Bourgeois (Matthew), Meredith Knauer, Mitchell Knauer, and Matthew Knauer and great-grandmother of Allison Portera, Christian, Gavin, and Austin Martinez; Ava, Sophia, and Eliza Sims; Joseph Banquer; and Fynn and Heath Bourgeois.

Former member of the United Methodist Women’s Guild, Covenant United Church of Chalmette.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans on Tuesday May 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM, and a Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.
