Marie Riso Degruise

Marie Riso Degruise a long time resident of Metairie, Louisiana, left this world on Wednesday, June 28th, 2017 at the age of 96. Daughter of the late Salvatore Riso and Maria Valenti Riso, born May 14, 1921, she married the love of her life of 65 years, the late Camile Degruise in 1942. They settled in the New Orleans and Metairie area raising their four girls; Valarie D. Herron, the late Marylyn R. Bland, Rose Marie D. Manzella and Christine D. Landry. Marie, or Honey as they called her, was a devoted wife and loving mother. Marie was a adoring grandmother to eight grandchildren; Eddie Herron,Jr., Cathy R. Carsey, Sandra H. Meche, Michael Manzella, Patricia R. Triche, Cheryl M. McDaniel, Linda H. Courteaux, and Brandy Landry; fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of Oaks of Houma for their love and care. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 12:00p.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
