Marie Papa Cusimano

Marie Papa Cusimano passed away on July 12, 2016, at the age of 88. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank A. Cusimano, Sr., and devoted and loving mother of Frank A. Cusimano, Jr. (Judy), Gary P. Cusimano, Dana Cusimano Farley (Michael), and Carin Cusimano Evans (Paul). She is survived by her cherished grandchildren: David Cusimano (Dawn), James Cusimano (Leslie), Salvatore Cusimano (Vicki), Maria Cusimano Bruce (Jonathan), Catherine Cusimano, Mary Cusimano, Nadia Farley, Michael E. Farley, and Ethan Evans. Great-grandmother of Joseph Cusimano, Angelina Cusimano, Francesca Cusimano, Vincent Cusimano, Abigail Cusimano, Anthony Vigo, and Charles Cinquemano. Loving aunt of Michael Foto and Susan Foto. Also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvatore and Ella Ferro Papa as well as her twin sister and best friend, Gloria Papa Foto. Mrs. Cusimano was a graduate of Eleanor Mc Main High School and attended Dominican College Business School. She was also member of the Elenian Club for many years. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and playing cards for over 60 years with her friends. Marie was compassionate, gentle, and loving to all whose lives she touched and will be dearly missed. The family would like to extend their thanks to Vivian Neely, Annie Greer, Debora Gabriel, and Blanche Lemon for their excellent care these past two years. Family and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME on Monday, July 18th at 2:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 11:30 am with the recitation of the Rosary at 11:45 am. Interment will follow the Mass in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Masses are greatly appreciated.
