Louise Guy "Mama Guy"

Louise Smith Guy passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the age of 85. She was the daughter of Vercy Smith and Lula Robinson Smith. She was raised in Maurepas, Louisiana and spent many happy days in Independence, LA. with her father, Vercy Smith and her second mother, Hazel Smith. Louise married Henry Robert Guy, Sr and remained married until his death. From this union there were five (5) children. Carl Guy (Dianne), Henry R. Guy Jr. (Ezola), Naomi Smith, Ronald Guy (Carolyn), and Andrea Powell (Ken). Louise was a grandmother to 11 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Carl Guy, Henry R. Guy Jr, Naomi Smith, and Andrea Powell. Her brothers, Antoine Smith, Malcolm Smith, and David Smith, sisters, Lena Mae Smith Logan (Ronald Earl), and Brenda Smith Pines (Wilbert). She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Robert Guy, Sr. parents, Vercy Smith, Lula Robinson Smith, her second mother, Hazel Smith, one (1) son, Ronald Guy, 1 step son Ulysses Guy Sr., one (1) sister, Vercina Smith, two (2) brothers, Allen Smith, and Clyde Smith.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124, on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. A visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will be private.
