Louis "Big Lou" Michael Cerre, Jr.

Louis “Big Lou” Michael Cerre, Jr. born June 10, 1944 passed away on September 27, 2024 at the age of 80. He graduated from St. Augustine High School and later worked as a transportation officer for New Orleans Municipal Court. Big Lou enjoyed bowling, watching sports especially college and professional football and basketball (NCAA, NFL, and NBA), game shows, 8 pool and solitaire on his iPad, barbecuing; cooking rabbit, cowan (turtle), crawfish bisque, potato salad, and stewed chicken.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Louis M. Cerre, Sr. and Velma Leon Cerre; his brother Byron Cerre, Sr. Louis is survived by his wife of sixty years, Andrea Demas Cerre; his children, Louis III, Shawn (Timothy I), and Blaine (Rachel); his grandchildren, Tiffany, Jessica, Timothy II, Payton, and Harmoni; his great grandchildren, Jared, Tyler III, and Tyran; and his sister-in-law, Sharon.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA, on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time.
