Lorraine Theresa Cernich Lewis

On Friday, October 24, 2014, Lorraine Cernich Lewis went into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior. She went peacefully at home surrounded by family. She was born in New Orleans, La. on March 9, 1940 to the late Albert and Nora Cernich. She was currently residing in Norfolk, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Lewis, Sr., and daughter, Nora Lewis. She is survived by her loving children, Nadine Frickey (Roger), Warren Lewis (Liz), Susan Price, Johnny Lewis (Annie), Betty Lewis, Mark Lewis, Alice Lewis (Paul), and Paul Richard (Kim). She is also survived by her grandson, Randall Frickey, 21 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, one sister, Nora McCullough, three brothers, Clavin, Alfred, and William Cernich, and a host of family and loved ones.

Lorraine was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and person. She will be forever missed dearly by all of her family and everyone she ever met.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Monday, November 3, 2014 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at 10:00AM. A funeral service will begin in the funeral home chapel at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Cypress Grove Cemetery in New Orleans.
