Lisa Anne Metz Saunders

Lisa is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, William “Billy” Saunders; her dear mother (age 93), Betty Bascle Metz; her two sons, Jonathan Saunders (wife, Kim) and Bradley Saunders (fiancée, Sarah Woodruff); her brother, Thomas Metz (wife, Julie); her two grandchildren, Logan Cox Saunders and Isabella Woodruff; and her niece, Kristina Metz. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas E. Metz.

Lisa was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on January 19, 1956, and was a graduate of Archbishop Chapelle High School, class of 1973. She studied business administration and received her bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University. She was a bookkeeper, and in later years, a homemaker.

Lisa found great joy in the simple things… watching reruns of MASH and Triple D (Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives), and loved to sing along to Grease and Dirty Dancing. She was always present for her niece’s dance recitals and parties. She also treasured spending time with her grandson, Logan.

Relatives and friends are invited to the memorial gathering at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 9:00AM until 11:00AM. Immediately following the gathering, Lisa will be interred at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
