Kevin Ross Lair, 60, of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi passed away at Ochsner Hospital in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, on May 1, 2018 at 4:30 AM. Born in Fort Worth, Texas on July 24, 1957 to Eldon Ross and Marilyn Hebert Lair and was the second of four siblings. He leaves behind three sisters, Kathi, Terri, and Lori. He lived in San Antonio, Charleston, and Cleveland at various times but spent most of his life in and around New Orleans and was devoted to the city. Nothing speaks to this more than the love he had for his alma mater, Brother Martin High School, where he excelled at football and was a part of the school’s only state championship. He played football on scholarship at Louisiana State University, where he would receive a degree in economics. Kevin spent most of his life selling water treatment chemicals and always swore that he was smarter than the people with “fancy chemistry degrees.” He was one of the hardest working men to ever walk this earth. A man’s man who loved John Wayne movies, good friends, and Maker’s Mark, Kevin was never afraid to speak his mind. He loved sports and was a die-hard fan of the Chicago Cubs, New Orleans Saints, LSU, Bucknell University, and Brother Martin. Kevin was a devoted husband and father of three sons. Everything he did was for his family. He was the kind of person who never missed a game, even when it meant flying over 2,600 miles in one day. Kevin is survived by his wife Pamela, and three sons, Adam, Andrew, and Alex. His family will miss him dearly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. and a graveside service will follow the mass at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
