Kevin Charles Cox

September 13,1966 to Arleen (Whiting) Allen and Donald Cox. Kevin was a loyal son, father, accountant, jester, rugby player, avid Badger fan, debater, music lover, festival goer, poet, and boisterous friend. He found great joy in spending time with family and friends over food and spirits, regaling all with his animated tales and musings. Kevin left the world peacefully yet suddenly of a heart event, having recently enjoyed the “Jazz Fest of his life.” We are grateful to the fest for providing such joy at the closing of his life.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Arleen (Whiting) Allen; stepfather, Jerry Allen; brother, Patrick Cox; daughter, Alyssa Cox; son, Bennett Cox; former wife, Cynthia Cox; aunt, Shirley Cox; his nieces and nephews, Madilyn Cox, Charlotte Cox, Micah Baker, Paige Baker, Dylan Baker, and Narissa Gunderson. Kevin is preceded in death by his son, Sean Cox; father, Donald Cox; grandparents, Charles Whiting and Constance (Frizzell) Whiting, Charles Cox and Anne (Gochis) Cox.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Crescent City Blues Rugby Club, the Jefferson Performing Arts Center staff, City Park, Richard CPAs, the Wisconsin Badger crew, colleagues, and friends who cared for and elevated his life.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on May 17, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home located at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Gathering to follow at Finn McCool’s Irish Pub, 3701 Banks St., New Orleans, LA 70119.
