Joseph F. Frank, Sr., born August 17, 1923, peacefully went home to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 9th, at his home in Metairie, Louisiana, surrounded by his loved ones. He was the loving husband of Rose Alice Mannina for 72 years. He was the loving father of Joseph F. Frank, Jr. (Pamela), Kathleen Frank Piglia (Edward), Jeffery D. Frank who preceded him in death (Cynthia), Jeanette Frank Credo (Michael) and Rosemarie Frank Dominick. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Shawn Wolkart, Stephen Frank, Gregory Frank, Lauren Frank Garzotto, Rechelle Brooks, Dana Diaz, Jessica Piglia, Zachary Frank, Jake Credo, Ricky Credo, Jennifer Erwin, Branden Williams and Thomas M. Dominick, 16 great-grandchildren and counting. He was a World War II Veteran in the United States Navy and received the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal for his service. He was a small business owner in Jefferson Parish and owned Central Hardware & Appliances. He was passionate about learning and was self-educated. He loved to play golf and cards, as well as fish and hunt. A special thanks to Guardian Angels Hospice for all your loving care and support.
There will be a celebration of his life on his 95th birthday, August 17, 2018 at 12:00 p.m., at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard, New Orleans, Louisiana, with a Memorial Service to follow at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Angels Among Us (www.aaula.org), Post Office Box 904, Prairieville, LA 70769, in the name of his great-granddaughter, Sloan Joy Credo, who received her wings on July 28, 2018.
