John Anton Heine

John Anton Heine, a native of New Orleans, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Friday, December 30, 2016. Beloved and precious father of Stephanie Hiene Mattio, Shawn Heine Staples and husband Bill, Steven John Heine and wife Marcia. PaPa of his grandchildren, Maggie and Katie Mattio, Sophia and Christian Staples, and Jacob and Victoria Heine who he loved more than life. John was greeted in heaven by his precious wife, Julia Perroncel Hiene. She was his world and his bride of 50 amazing years. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, James Arthur Heine and Lois Pauline Heine, granddaughter Sarah Nicole Staples and son-in-law Michael Mattio. John graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School and Delgado Community College. His career as a service Manager was with Xerox, Simplex and ADT. Husband, dad and PaPa, he was our rock, our counselor, our laughter, and our joy. He was our everything. John had a true servant’s heart. He served his God at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church as President of the congregation, Sunday School teacher, and on the Board of Education. He also served God at Atonement Lutheran Church as Vice President of the congregation, Chairman of The Board of Lay Ministry, confirmation teacher, Sunday School teacher, and as church secretary and leader of 2 years in the absence of a Pastor. He was also on the Board of Education at Atonement Lutheran School. We will carry you with us every day. “Well done thou good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23,

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Atonement Lutheran Church and School, 6500 Riverside Drive, Metairie, LA 70003 or to the LSUHSC Foundation/Pulmonary Hypertension Fund, 2000 Tulane Avenue, New Orleans, LLA 70112.
