John Dart, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of the late Martha Peacock Dart. Loving father of John Peacock Dart (Sandra Bordes Dart), Elisabeth “Lisa” Dart, and Jeffrey Henry Dart, and the late Rebecca “Becky” Dart and Andrew M. Dart. Grandfather of Andrew James Dart, Martha Elizabeth Dart, and Sarah Catherine Dart. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Dart and Phyllis Reeves Dart, and a sister, Dulaney Dart Montgomery.
Jack was a lifelong member of Pickwick Club, Louisiana Club, Stratford Club, Kiwanis Club, and a member of several Carnival organizations. He served on the boards of the Louisiana Agri Business Committee, and the Louisiana 4-H Club. Jack enjoyed flying his planes, fishing, and LSU football.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial service at St. Timothy United Methodist Church, 335 Asbury Dr. in Mandeville, on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11:00AM. A visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:00AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
