Joan Vedros Malone

Joan Marie Vedros Malone entered peacefully into God’s loving arms on October 18, 2022. She was the devoted wife of the late Lonie Lee Malone, Jr. for 49 years. Joan was preceded in death by: her parents, Edward Vedros, Sr. and Beverly Berger; her stepfather, Charles Berger; and her brother, Thomas Vedros. She was also preceded in death by: her stepdaughter, Nadine Crotwell; her grandchildren, Rudy Aucoin, Jr., Beverly Crotwell, and Paul Crotwell, Jr. She will be deeply missed by: her brother, Edward “Sonny” Vedros, Jr.; her children, Rudy Aucoin, Jr., Denise Marie Malone, Crystal Malone Hartman (Chad); and her stepchildren, Debra Hebert (the late David), and Lonnie Malone, Jr. (Jill). Joan was the most devoted Grandma ever to her adoring grandchildren, Heather Kimbrough, Dustin Aucoin, Devan Aucoin, Victoria Malone, Michael Dugas, Justin and Jordan Malone, Samantha Malone, Chastity Hartman (Christopher), Brandon Hartman, Liam Hartman, Melissa Russo (Dax), David Hebert, Herbert Crotwell, Kristy Matherne (Oak), and Kasey Malone. She also leaves a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Joan was a lifelong resident of Marrero and spent her time taking care of her family. She loved playing bingo, playing cards, and dancing. Her contagious smile and laugh will be missed by so many. Joan was a force to be reckoned with if you crossed her family. She had a special relationship with Samantha, and she will be missed greatly by her. The family would like to express their gratitude to Samantha Malone and Rochelle LeBlanc, Wynhoven Healthcare, and Notre Dame Hospice, who helped care for her at the end of her life. A memorial service will be held at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 3500 Ames Blvd in Marrero, on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 10:30 AM.
