Jennifer Anne Rogers Smith

Jennifer Rogers Smith passed away Friday, April 3rd at the youthful age of 60. Jennifer was the beloved wife of Rossa Elbert Smith, III, sister of Marc Andrew Rogers (Stacy) and a Bonus Mom to Carolyn Elizabeth Smith Jennifer was born in New Orleans, and graduated from St. Mary’s Dominican High School in 1972. She attended LSU in Baton Rouge and Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans from 1972 – 1977. She was secretary of the Student Government of Association as well as a member of the Blue Key Honor Society while attending Our Lady of Holy Cross College. Jennifer worked in the insurance industry for more than 30+ years; her last 8 years were at USI in Metairie. While there she handled large commercial accounts, specializing in Marine Insurance and was also a three-time USI Summit Award Winner for providing excellent customer service to her clients. Jennifer’s personal life was filled with spending time with family and friends; she was always the first one to lift a glass to celebrate a new beginning or the setting of the sun. Her favorite past times were spent decorating, gardening, and cheering for her Saints. Everyone that knew Jennifer will miss her spirit for life and devotion to her family. Relatives and friends are invited to a “Celebration of Jennifer’s Life” from 1-4pm on April 16th at the Tableau Restaurant located at 616 St. Peter St. in New Orleans.
