Jean Clare Hecker

Miss. Jean Clare Hecker, age 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2023 from heart disease. Jean taught school for nearly 50 years at St. Agnes School, Helen Cox, and was a counselor at Riverdale High School. Jean was a loving caregiver for both parents and would lend a helping hand to others. She was a devoted Catholic, she played the organ every Sunday at St. Agnes Church for 50 years and surely rest in the loving hand of Jesus.

Jean is proceeded in death by her parents; Paul and Marie Hecker, her brothers; Francis and Father Elwood Hecker SJ; her sister; Novella (who was a Marianite Nun).

Jean is survived by her nieces; Jody Reeder (Ed), and Janet Stein (Alan), her nephews; Bob Hecker (late Richelle), John Hecker (Mary), many great nieces and nephews and many longtime friends.

Jean will be missed by all that who knew her as the fine person she was.

The Hecker family would like to thank Covenant Home for the wonderful and loving care given to Jean over the past few years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. Visitation will begin at 11am and a Mass will follow at 12pm. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
