Iris Whitmore Gallo passed away on June 25, 2017 at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by daughter, Linda Gallo Berg; son, Guy J. Gallo; brothers, Robert J. Whitmore and James J. Whitmore; and parents, Charles and Esther Whitmore. She is survived by her sister, Lois Whitmore; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Iris worked as a teacher after earning her B.S. from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. A Funeral Mass celebrated by Fr. Billy O’Riordon will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 11 AM.
