Irene Vairin Dolese

Irene V. “Gloria” Dolese died peacefully at the age of 90 on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, following a lengthy illness. She is survived by her four children, Ernest T. Dolese, Jr., Warren E. “Rick” Dolese (Alice), Karen D. Cottone, and David A. Dolese (Debbie). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Ernest T. Dolese, Sr., her mother Augusta Anderson, her sisters, Veeann Waller and Paige Poulson, and her son-in-law, Marco Cottone. A native of Bay St. Louis, MS and New Orleans, LA, Gloria worked for the New Orleans Tax Assessors’ office for 16 years. She was a parishioner of St. Angela Merici Parish in Metairie, and was very active in both St. Anthony of Padua and Sacred Heart of Jesus parishes in New Orleans. Known for her tireless love of her family and her easygoing personality, she loved to cook. She also loved dancing, travel with her friends and family, and her weekly card games. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends, as well as her loving caregivers, Debbie Vita, Debbie Borales and Rose Cage, who brought her great comfort in her last days.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 2:00PM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 Noon.
