Hope Handley Cuccia passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Lorena Landry Handley and John Duplan Handley. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jay John Cuccia and her sister Marie Handley Janes. Hope was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who had a wonderful, generous heart. She is survived by her adoring children Jaye Cuccia Schaefer (Mikel), Jon Joseph Cuccia, Jina Cuccia Schweizer (Clay), and Jace Joseph Cuccia (Erin). She is also survived by seven grandchildren whom she adored, Connor and Aidan Schaefer, Sloane and Clayton Schweizer, Nicholas, Gabrielle, and Roman Cuccia, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Donnette Handley Decker. Hope and her late husband Jay were the owners of Evans Candy Co. and Cuccia Chocolates for many years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA, 70124, on Tuesday October 3, 2017 beginning at 11:00 a.m. followed by mass at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
