Helen Whalen

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, George and Barbara Tillman Morris; siblings, Lonnie, Clyde, Mary, Philip, and Emory Morris; and her daughter, Deborah Whalen.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, Paul Whalen; her children, Robert Whalen (Connie), Paula McMinn (Gary), and Keith Whalen; grandchildren, Amanda Bunch, Ellen Bunch, Rebekah Dailidonis, Jessica Rama, Robert Whalen, Jr., Sarah Vincent, Nathan Whalen, and Erin Whalen; great-grandchildren, Jacob Jackson, Elena Dailidonis, Serenity Rama, Patrick Rama, Halen Rama, Nathan Whalen, Jr., Weston Whalen, and Spencer Thorneberry; her siblings, Kathy Pounds, Bud Morris, Ted Morris, and Ester Lenormand; her sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Marshall; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen was born in Pascagoula, Mississippi on February 11, 1935, and she attended Pascagoula High School. She was a member of Williams Blvd. Baptist Church in Kenner, Louisiana. She was also a member of Sigma Beta Phi. She was a seamstress, and also enjoyed gardening, and playing golf and bridge.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 2:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM. The interment will follow the chapel service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Saint Rose.
