He also leaves to mourn his passing his cherished daughters, Erin Breaux Williams (Ray) and Robin Breaux Lauga (Adam), as well as his grandchildren, Jonah Tripp and Amelie Rose Lauga, the lights of his life. He is also survived by his dear sister, Anita Breaux Forsberg (Virgil) of Arlington, TX. Harry will be sadly missed by a host of in-laws, cousins, friends, classmates, co-workers, and anyone who struck up a conversation with him.
Harry attended St. Matthias and proudly graduated from Jesuit High School in 1969. At Jesuit, he excelled on the football team and was a record-setting track athlete. He maintained a deep and meaningful connection to his fellow Blue Jays. Ad majorem Dei gloriam.
Harry had a long, dedicated career in hotel management and spent the last 26 years as a loyal sales representative for Louisiana Seafood Exchange. He had an inimitably strong work ethic.
Harry was an avid sports fan, especially of the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers. You could often find him “coaching” from his recliner on a Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon. If you ever thought Harry was wrong, you were wrong because Harry was always right. Few people knew of Harry’s self-endowed degrees in meteorology, sports management, GPS, appliance repair, and medical hearsay. Most of his lectures were conducted over spirited Sunday family dinners. What we will remember most about Harry, the consummate gentleman, is his unwavering devotion to family and the life lessons we have learned from him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass officiated by Rev. Anthony McGinn, S.J.at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 1:00pm with visitation beginning at 11:00am.
