Gloria was born in New Orleans on January 31, 1925 and was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She attended the Academy of the Holy Angels from first grade through High School graduation. She was also a graduate of Soule Business School. She loved her AHA Alma Matter and looked forward to the All-Class annual reunions. A life-long friendship with several former class mates was a source of joy.
During WWII Gloria worked at LaGarde General Hospital, an Army installation on the New Orleans Lake Front. Later, she was employed by the New Orleans Veterans Administration Hospital for over thirty years.
An amateur genealogist, Gloria brought her camera to all family gatherings to record each event. A family joke was the camera’s big, blue flash bulbs which did not always work as they should, requiring more posing and retaking of pictures.
She moved to Metairie where she was an active member of St. Ann Church and Shrine.
In 2020, Gloria moved to Slidell and St. Margaret Mary Parish to be with and her close family members. She appreciated the life-long love and support each gave her and was especially grateful to her beloved Ray for his unbelievable devotion and care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 12 PM. Visitation will begin at 11 AM. Following Mass, Gloria will be laid to rest in Metairie Cemetery.
