George Felix Boué, Jr., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 31, 2024, following a brief illness. He was born in New Orleans on May 3, 1941, and later became a resident of Metairie. He is survived by his loving children, Donna Boué (Michelle Gibbs), Stephanie Boué Cazenave (Dean), Michelle Boué Heidingsfelder (Todd) and George Felix Boué III (Stacy). George’s memory and legacy of love will be forever cherished by his nine grandchildren: Christopher, Sarah and Cole Cazenave; Hillary Heidingsfelder Rodriguez (Hunter), Jack and Jude Heidingsfelder; and George Felix IV (Ivey), Nash and Brooks Boué. He is also survived by two siblings, Gary Boué (Patricia) and Lurline Boué Soignet. George was dearly loved by his many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose Marchese Boué, whom he married in 1962; his parents, George Felix Boué, Sr. and Alverta "Ducey" Marquez Boué; and his brother, Donald Boué. George was a proud 1959 graduate of Redemptorist High School, where he served as Student Council President. He was a longtime parishioner at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church. George also was a selfless community volunteer, having served as President of Johnny Bright Playground and having volunteered for many years to assist those suffering with addiction. George spent his entire 40-year career working at Comeaux Furniture in Metairie, personally interacting with business leaders in the furniture industry and with customers (and repeat customers), which gave him great satisfaction. During his career at Comeaux’s, George created lifelong friendships with colleagues. George had many friends, and for those who knew him, he was the life of the party. He never met a stranger. In his latter years, he very much enjoyed the company of his dear friend and companion, Rita Mitts. George was an inspiration to many, lived life to the fullest, and will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation in his honor from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Metairie, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
