FRANK ANTHONY PETTA, on Feb 24, 2016, at the age of 50, passed away after a long battle with cancer. Frank was preceded in death by his loving parents, Joseph and Rita M. Petta; grandparents, Joseph P. and Inez G. Petta, Edmund Sr. and May B. Moore; and his Godfather, O’Neil (Nee) Guitroz. He is survived by his siblings, Connee P. Walsh, Edmay P. Mayers, Inez P. Siegrist (Emile) and Joseph G. Petta (Shawn); his Godmother, Jacqueline (Jackie) M. Gebler, his Godson, Jeffery P. Siegrist, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and his faithful dog, Benson.
Frank was a 1984 Graduate of DeLaSalle High School where he was proudly one of the drummers in the band and was also the Drum Major for his Senior Year. He also was the drummer in numerous bands prior to and after graduation.
He was a 20 plus year employee of the City of New Orleans EMT/Paramedic Team. Over the years Frank impacted multiple people’s lives from patients, co-workers, and complete strangers. His influence on everyone will never be forgotten. He was a teacher, a care-giver and the perfect friend to everyone. His co-workers considered him their brother. He will never be forgotten.
All of Frank’s many friends including employees of New Orleans EMS, NOPD, NOFD and The Picture Framing Industry, Local Emergency Room Staff, Hospital Employees and their families are invited to attend his graveside services and burial at Tranquil Oaks in Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA, on Thursday March 3rd. Visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home from 10:00 until graveside services begin at 13:30.
