Erin Collins Hillery, age 62, of Metairie, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, May 17 in her home. Born in New Orleans February 23, 1955 to Jeffery H. and Barbara C. Collins. Married November 6, 1992 to Robert “Bob” Stone Hillery. Mother to Christina Monteleone West (Henry). Grandmother to Sydney Carol West. Erin is preceded in death by her parents Jeff and Bobbie Collins and her brother Jeffery H. Collins III. She leaves behind a brother Kevin Collins (Malain) and sisters Shawn Collins, Dede Hoerner (Ivan), Moira Dorsey (Marc), Tracey Collins, many nieces and nephews and Sadie her beloved dog. She attended Mt. Carmel Academy (Class of ’73) and graduated from Dominican College with an Associate’s Degree in 1975. Erin loved camping, canoeing, sailing, cooking and watching classic movies. She also loved a wide variety of animals and gardening as well as feeding the birds in Lafreniere Park. Friends and family are invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans. In lieu of flowers, the family requests pet adoption or contributions to Humane Society.
