Emilie was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and participated in their Perpetual Adoration Ministry. She attended St. Matthias Catholic Elementary School and Graduated from McMain High School. Emilie was a member of the Blue Goose Auxiliary and the Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO International).
She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and tennis and was a fan of the New Orleans Saints.
She is preceded in death by her first husband of 27 years, Elmer Triche; second husband of 18 years, Frank Mistretta; parents, Thomas Wharton Shepard, Sr. and Emilie Pitot Shepard; sons, Bernard Triche and Gerrard Triche; daughter-in-law, Donna B. Triche; step-sons, Steve Mistretta, Sr., and Eric Mistretta; step-son-in-law, Merrick Matherne; sisters, Helena Bisio, Marjorie Tulier, Susan Baker, and Madeleine Farnet; and brother, Thomas Wharton Shepard, Jr.
Emilie is survived by her sons, Stephen Triche (Stephanie), Douglas Triche (Bertha), James Triche (Shari), and Richard Triche (Grace); step-daughters, Candy Matherne, Jan Mistretta, and Jill Bergeron (Terryl); step-sons, Robbie Mistretta (Ruth) and Marc Mistretta, Sr. (Debbie); step-daughter-in-law, Faye Blanchard; grandchildren, Stephen, Matthew, Christopher, Erin, Taylor, Emilie, Lauren, Shane, Gabrielle, Katherine, Rebecca, and Andrew; and step-grandchildren, Kiersten, Meridy, Megan, Rob, Jr., Tim, Ruthie, Stephanie, Marc Alan, Jr., Heidi, Monica, Troy, Layne, Eric, Logan, and Stevie, Jr.; and 30 great grandchildren/step-great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to services on Monday, April 15, 2024 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 13396 River Road, Destrehan, LA 70047. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. until the eulogies at 11:45 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial begins at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Charles Dussouy. Interment will follow in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery. Please join us for a repass celebration of her life at 13 Sombrero Ln. St. Rose, LA, immediately after the interment.
