I only knew Eloise as a young child, but my father Bob Skinner was Sister Edwina's Godfather and he was close to Ella, who is buried in the Skinner plot in Metairie ccemetery. Aunt Ella was one of my favorites-always happy and smiling. As Ella's daughter and Edwina's sister, she had to be a wonderful person. A great family.

What a great a dear friend Eloise was to so many Sisters Of Mercy.I got to know her through her Sister--Sister Edwina-but we became friends and her prayers and friendship helped me to be a better Sister Of Mercy. I will miss her but will visit her often in prayer. I know she is having a good visit with Edwina. Her family will be sad and miss her alot. She often told me hoe very good they were to her.

Eloise was a very dear friend of my step-mother, Lorraine Champagne, and my mother, Lucille (Lil'one) Champagne, and a truly loving person. She never stopped sending cards and calling Lorraine when she was "exiled" to San Francisco after Katrina, and rejoiced with her when Lorraine returned to N.O. in April 2010. I'm sure there is another joyful reunion in heaven today. On behalf of the Champagne family, please accept our condolences and our thanks for the gift of your Mom in their lives and ours.
