Douglas Albert Moncada

Douglas treasured his family the most and enjoyed spending time with his wife and sons, often taking them to Galveston for family bike rides and watching old school wrestling matches with them. He was passionate about football and was a lifelong Saints fan. While he appreciated old cars and loved exploring junk yards, his favorite car was the Mitsubishi 3000 GT.

He is preceded in death by: his stepfather, Juan E. Gutierrez; his mother-in-law, Emilia Dominguez; his great-grandmother, Elvira Gomez; his grandmothers, Eva M. Gomez and Carlota Rivas; his grandfathers, Samuel S. Torres and Jose M. Moncada; his uncles, Samuel J. Gomez, Francisco Moncada; his aunt Martha; and his nephew, Giancarlos Moncada.

He is survived by: his wife of 24 years, Marina D. Moncada; his parents, Carlos P. Moncada and Yolanda Guiterrez; his sons, Douglas A. Huezo and Andre A. Moncada; his sisters, Erlinda Gonzalez (Mario), Guadalupe Lopez (Octavio), Eva M. Moncada, and Lorena Toy (JT); and numerous of his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, followed by at 12:00 noon mass in the chapel. Interment will take place in Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.
