Dorothy (Dottie) Richards entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. She was 105 years old. Beloved daughter of the late Frederick and Anna Renz, she was married for over 80 years to Ralph C. Richards, Sr. who preceded her in death on August 6, 2011. They married at age 16 and raised their children through the Depression. Dottie was a strong and independent woman who loved to make us laugh. Her surviving family members have fond memories of spending summers with her in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi where she delighted in providing love and comfort to her grandchildren. She will be remembered for showing us how staying active with a loving devotion to God and family creates a life well lived.
They had two children, Dorothy Richards Lemonier and Ralph C. Richards, Jr. She was the sister of Alvina, Alma, Mamie, Annie, Lilly, and Frederick, grandmother of Mark Lemonier (Susan), David Lemonier (Beth), Wayne Lemonier (Melanie), Marie Lemonier (Greg), Scott Lemonier (Alicia), Keith Lemonier (Maria), Randy Richards (Carol), and Rick Richards, great grandmother of Dana Lemonier, Caroline Lemonier, Edward Lemonier (Alli), Colette Lemonier, Courtney Lemonier, Bruce Snow (Erin), Monique, Luke Lemonier, Lauren Lemonier, Connor Dunkling, Michael Lemonier (Jocelyn), Paul Lemonier, Andrew Lemonier, Alex Lemonier, Aydan Lemonier, Aubrey Lemonier, Daniel Lemonier, Gabrielle Lemonier, Matthew Lemonier, and Kether Richards, and great, great grandmother of Ava Lemonier and Michael Lemonier, Jr. Dorothy is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, family members and friends.
Relatives and friends are invite to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 12 noon. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
