Dianne Viviano Cowart, age 71, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 28, 2015 surrounded by her family, friends, and a house full of laughter. She was born and raised in New Orleans on November 25, 1944. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Herbert Viviano and Myrtle Finch Viviano; and her beloved husband, Woodrow “Woody” Wilson Cowart, Jr. Dianne is survived by her children, Christy Cowart Read (Beau), Chelly Cowart Greco (Tony), Courtney Cowart Johnson (Larry), and Christopher Curtis Cowart. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Thomas Christopher Cowart, Anna Katherine Greco, James Anthony Greco III, Natalie Rae Johnson, and Alexander Troy Minshew; her cousins, Anna Schwarzenbach and Donna Viviano; and her daughter-in-law, Samantha Schiffer Minshew (Kasey). Her passions in life were spending time with her grandchildren, teaching, and eating out. Dianne graduated from University of New Orleans, and was a teacher at Eisenhower Elementary, Belle Chasse Primary, and Christ the King School. The family is grateful to Dr. Milton Seiler and his caring staff, as well as Dr. Alexandria Beranger; and also Carlette and Sandra with Serenity Hospice. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 4:00PM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 4640 Canal Street in New Orleans. A visitation will be held at the church beginning at 2:00PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
