Russo, Darlene Parks LaCava, born in New Orleans on August 29, 1941, passed away August 16, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Bert I. Russo and the beloved mother of the sons she adored, Rick J. LaCava (Karen Thurman), Victor J. LaCava (Denise LaCava) and James P. LaCava (Sheila Graffeo), who taught her the true meaning of love. Beloved grandmother of Joycelyn, Perrin, Anthony, Rick, Jr., Olivia and Isabella, who brought her more joy than they could ever imagine, and 1 great-granddaughter, Reese and a great grandson Elijah who will be making his debut September 2022. Survived by cherished siblings, Karen P. Schumacher (Henry), Willie Jean Parks, Roxanne P. Heffler and William Parks Jr. (Joan). Also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews who held very special places in her heart. Survived by very special stepchildren, Susan Camp (David), Lori Levine (Kenneth), Mark Russo (Linda), Matt Russo (Rhonda) and Steven Russo (Debbie), as well as their children and grandchildren. Cherished fur babies, Gizelle and Ellie Blue, made her smile every day. She dearly loved her extended family of boys (now men) and girls (now women) who came into her life through her sons. Predeceased by parents Dottie Cook Parks and William Parks, grandparents, Myrtle L. and Charles Parks, Adele W. and Fred Cook. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will being at 11:00AM follow by a service at 1:00PM.
