In the comfort of home, surrounded by loved ones holding vigil around the clock, Darlene Mary Fredricks succumbed to a year-long battle with cancer on November 7, 2022. Born and raised in the French Quarter, she entered this life on April 29, 1958 in New Orleans, LA as daughter to the deceased Gloria Marie Fredricks. Beloved to all, she is preceded by her brother Salvador Fazzio and will be treasured in the hearts of her sister and brothers, Lois Terese, Terry Fredricks, and Ricardo Fredricks, as well as numerous adoring nieces, nephews, and friends. She leaves behind the love of her life and domestic partner of thirty-five years, Roberto Astacio. Darlene, a devout Catholic, was a graduate of Cabrini High School and was employed at Whitney National Bank in a managerial position for many years, followed by twenty years at UNO Research & Technology Foundation, where she worked as a Property Coordinator. Funeral services will be held at Lake Lawn Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at 1:00pm with chapel service to follow at 2:00pm.
