Daniel Patrick “Pat” O’Rourke, age 85, died on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the VA Hospital in New Orleans after an extended illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of New Orleans and a US Army veteran. O’Rourke will best be remembered as a retired real estate agent with Latter & Blum, an active member of the Krewes of Amon-Ra, Armenius and more recently as King of the Krewe of Petronius in 2022. He was also a member of the Steamboat Club of New Orleans and a board member of the “Fat Monday Luncheon”.
O’Rourke was preceded in death by his life partner, Clarence “Denny” Dennison and his parents, Thomas Robert and Florence Labit O’Rourke. He is the brother of Cheryl Smith (Brian), Patricia Meier (William), Walter L. O’Rourke Sr. (Evelyn) and the late Thomas Robert O’Rourke Jr. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023 at 12:00 Noon in the Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home Chapel, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. with visitation from 11:00 AM until service time. Inurnment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum with full military honors.
