Cyrus Lloyd Barker, age 30 passed away suddenly on January 13, 2012. He was a native of New Orleans. After graduating from St. Martin’s Episcopal School in 2000, he attended Auburn University and studied engineering. In the aftermath of Katrina he worked tirelessly to assist family members by helping recover lost belongings and rebuilding the family business, Cembell Industries. In his usual determined fashion he repaired machinery and equipment which enabled many employees to return to work during a time that seemed impossible. As a self-taught musician, he collected and played guitars. His life reflected his love of science, astronomy, music and machines; above all he was dedicated to his family and friends and to the city that needed his help. Cyrus is survived by his mother, Mary Brupbacher Antonini, his step-father, Lawrence Paul Antonini and his father Brian Curtis Barker. He also leaves behind his grandparents, Benjamin and Lois Brupbacher and Cheryl Barker. He was the nephew of Dr. William and Leslie Kramer, Dr. Jay and Ellen Addison and Mr. Christopher and Neci Brupbacher. He will be sadly missed by his cousins Justin Addison, Christopher Brupbacher, Jacob Brupbacher, Benjamin Kramer, Katherine Kramer, Jonathan and Dr. Aimee Kramer and their twins Lila and Clark Kramer.
