Corliss (“Carla”) Joy Gallo passed away on August 5, 2023, at the age of 68. She was the beloved, youngest daughter of the late Mary Joy Dwyer Gallo and Carlo Joseph Gallo, Sr. She is survived by her sister Vicki Gallo Sullivan, brother Carlo Joseph Gallo, Jr., brother-in-law Andrew Rowan Sullivan, niece Meghan Dwyer Sullivan, and great-nephew Augustus “Gus” Garcia-Sullivan.
Carla was a successful business owner, having started her own travel agency in New Orleans in 1992. She sent many people on unforgettable trips, and she was a true francophile.
She was also an avid painter who loved Vincent van Gogh and chose a wide variety of subjects to display her talent. Foreign destinations were among her favorite themes. She also published a cookbook of spectacular recipes from her family of New Orleans/Italian chefs. She was a lover of animals and adored her three cats.
She will be missed by family, friends, and loyal clients. Donations can be made to the Cat Hospital of Metairie or any animal shelter of your choice.
