She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 19 years, Walter Park; sons, Steven Francis Mattern and Thomas Earl Mattern; great grandson, William Donald Mattern; brothers, John Seguin and William Seguin Jr.; sister, Helen Hammel; and parents, William and Edna Seguin.
Ms. Clair is survived by two sons, Donald Warren Mattern (Dena) and John Michael Mattern (Vickie); daughters in law, Mary Ann Mattern and Winnafor Mattern; eight grandchildren, William Francis Mattern (Stephanie), Emily June Sneed (Travis), Justin Michael Mattern, Thomas Earl Mattern Jr. (Elizabeth), Brandon Michael Mattern, Lori Ann Mattern Newton, Elizabeth Ann Fairris (Mordecai) and Aleyah Nicole Alcantara; fourteen great grandchildren, Caitlyn Mattern, Keegan Mattern, Alexander Lynch, Nathaniel Lynch, Kaden Newton, Jillian Newton, Trenton Fairris, Layla Maza, Caila Fairris, Sophia Mattern, Maximus Mattern, Mason Michael, Renee Hess and Rebecca Hess; and a host of extended relatives and close friends.
Born on June 12, 1931 in New Orleans, Louisiana to William and Edna Seguin, she was destined for greatness. Ms. Clair had a burning desire to help others, very passionate about life, gardening as she loved daisies, outdoors and birds, the SPCA and attending races at the tracks with her beloved late husband, Walter. A restaurant owner, full time homemaker while raising four handsome young men all while making sure she kept up with her Bible school and study. The true joys of her life were being a mother, a grandmother and never letting her precious dog, Sugar, out of her sight.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Catholic Service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 2 PM. Visitation will begin at 12 PM. A graveside service will follow in Lake Lawn Park
