Chuck was a veteran of World War II. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and was deployed in the European theater. After returning home from the war, he was employed by South Central Bell where he retired after 40 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and had a life-long love of fishing, shrimping, and camping, but his greatest love was his family. He had an enthusiastic sense of humor and was always quick with a joke. He always had a smile and enjoyed visiting with family, neighbors, and friends. Chuck was always friendly and never met a stranger. After retirement, one of his joys was weekly coffee on Friday mornings with his fellow retiree’s “Over the Hill Gang.” He was a long-time member of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church in River Ridge, Louisiana. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernian Irish Catholic American organization.
