Carlos Jose Muniz

Carlos, 65, son of Carlos and Angela Muniz. Husband to Allison Muniz, father to Debra Miller and Papi to his grandsons Mavryn Muniz-Sanchez and Loic Miller. His final moments were spent peacefully with his beloved wife.

He was born March 19th, 1958 in Managua Nicaragua. He was known for his larger than life smile and infectious laughter. His love for his family and friends was evident by all that knew him. His hard work ethic was important to him and he took pride in all he did.

Carlos fought his battle against glioblastoma like the warrior he has always been. Despite these past few months, he faced this challenge just as he did anything else that was thrown his direction. With grit, tenacity, confidence and trust in the creator of it all. Throughout this 4 year journey we are constantly brought back to gratitude of the time Jesus gave us with him.

Carlos is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Carlos and Angela Muniz. He is survived by his wife Allison Muniz, daughter Debra Miller, son in law AJ Miller; sister Patricia Friedlander; brother Carlos V. Muniz. He adored his grandsons Mavryn Sanchez and Loic Miller as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of life service will be held February 9th 2024 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans LA 70124. Family viewing will begin at 11:00 am; Public viewing will be at 12pm; Service will begin at 2pm followed by the burial. The reception to follow.
