Aurolyn Castigliola O'Neill

Aurolyn Castigliola O’Neill entered her eternal rest on Thursday, November 24, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Angelo “Bubby” Castigliola and Aurolyn Liuzza Castigliola. Beloved wife of Donald J. O’Neill. She was married to her loving husband Don for 54 years. Mother of John David Salvadore O’Neill. Sister of Darrelyn C. Hahn, aunt of Darin H. Hahn (Kim) and Derik A. Hahn, and great-aunt of Braden F. Hahn. She loved her family unconditionally. Aurolyn enjoyed her teaching career, studying Italian, watching football games and crime shows, and playing cards and taking casino trips with her friends. She loved listening to music, especially Frank Sinatra. Aurolyn was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend. She truly cared for her family, and her family dearly loves and deeply misses her. Aurolyn was employed for 43 years as an Orleans Parish Elementary and Special Education School Teacher. Throughout her long and successful teaching career, she inspired and touched the lives of hundreds of her students. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 2:00 PM.
