Anna Clair Guidry Caminita, age 77, died peacefully in the arms of her husband, Anthony Frank Caminita Jr., on December 12, 2023, at their home in Covington, Louisiana. Anna Clair was born on June 11, 1946, in New Orleans to Anastacia Folse Guidry and Alvin Joseph Guidry. She is the sister of Lois Marie Guidry LaBruzza, the late Alvin Joseph Guidry Jr., and the late Mary Ann Guidry Brenan.
Anna Clair is survived by her children, Gina Maria Caminita Joanos, (Allen), Anthony Frank Caminita III, and Anna Faye Caminita Ellis, (James). Anna Clair had five grandchildren, Anthony Frank Caminita IV, Kyle Joseph Marciante, (Ashley), Isabella Grace Caminita, Olivia Katie Joanos, and Jack Christian Caminita, (Jackie). Anna Clair adored her great grandchildren Marshall Paul Marciante, Anthony Frank Caminita V, Joseph Charles Caminita, Gianna Rey Caminita, and Maverick Lane Marciante. She was also survived by her Caminita in-laws and a host of nieces and nephews.
Anna Clair spent a large part of her life as a Westbank resident where she served as a teacher and coach at St. Joseph Catholic School in Gretna. She was a graduate of Warren Eastern High School and Marinello-Comer Cosmetology School. For many years, Anna Clair was an active member of the St. Joseph Women’s Club which assisted in the annual creation of the St. Joseph Alter. She also loved fishing, cooking, and being with friends.
