She was born on May, 9, 1967, in New London, CT. In 1977, her family moved to Phoenix, AZ, where she lived until August of 2000. Mary-Anne graduated from Deer Valley High School, 1985, and attended both Glendale Community College and Arizona State University-Tempe Campus. Mary-Anne worked in many fields, such as hospitality, customer and food service, and the pharmaceutical field. She was also a Girl Scout leader for 12 years, a foster parent for 5 years, and an interpreter for the hearing impaired and Spanish speaking community.
She met her husband, Michael, in December 1985 and married him in October 1989. She was married to him for 32 years. After the death of her father, she moved her family back to Connecticut, living in the Groton area. She is survived by her husband, Michael, her daughter, Rebecca Breda (Jonathan), her Mother Elsie Haynes-Pearson, her step-father, Walter Pearson, her three brothers, James E. Haynes, III, Alezay Lisboa, and Charlie Fitzgerald, her 2 sisters, Shantel Fitzgerald and Carissa Fitzgerald, step siblings Thomas and Robert Pearson of Plainfield, and Brenda Helstrom (Aaron) of CO; other family members and friends.
She is pre-deceased by her father, James E. Haynes, Jr, her paternal grandparents Earl and Thelma Haynes, her maternal grandparents Kenneth Sisson, Sr., and Almy Sisson, as well as numerous family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 8th from 5-9pm at Baymont Inn and Suites, 360 Route 12, Groton. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the ASPCA, the Humane Society, or American Cancer Society, in Mary-Anne's name.
