Danny Maiolo

New London- Damiano "Danny" Maiolo, 43, of Hamilton St., Groton, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014 after a courageous battle with brain cancer for seven years in Lawrence and Memorial with his family by his side.

Danny was born on November 5, 1971 in New London, the son of Salvatore and Stella Maiolo. He married Jeannine Lassinger on May 19, 2001 in St. Joseph Church in New London. He was employed for years with the IUBAC Local #1 as a Bricklayer. He was also a member of the Italian American Citizens Club in Groton. The sign of a beautiful person is that they always see the beauty in others. These words describe how loving and compassionate Danny was for others. Although he will be missed he will surely never be forgotten.

Danny is survived by his loving wife Jeannine, his parents, brother Andy Maiolo and wife Cindy of Salem, Sister Laura of Groton, loving son-in-law of Gary and Charlene Lassinger of Groton, brother-in-law of Laura and Donnie Ellal of Groton, Danny will be mostly missed by his cherished nieces and nephews: Halle, Aidan, Hannah, Hayden, Cailyn and Holden. He is also loved by many uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and his Meme Jeannine Lamothe of Groton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2014 at 11:00am in Sacred Heart Church in Groton. Interment will follow in Colonel Ledyard Cemetery, Groton. Calling Hours will be held on Friday, January 2, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00pm in Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave., New London, CT 06320.
