Wendy Michelle Durocher, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, surrounded by loved ones, with her devoted husband by her side. She was 43 years old.
Funeral Services celebrating Wendy’s life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 10:00 am at Evangeline Funeral Home in New Iberia. Rev. Paul Neel will officiate.
Wendy will be laid to rest at Holy Family Cemetery.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Friday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Evangeline Funeral Home. The funeral home will reopen on Saturday at 8:00 am until the time of service.
Born on July 19, 1980, in Leesville, Louisiana, Wendy brought joy and warmth into the lives of all who knew her. She was a proud graduate of Pickering High School, Class of 2000, where she formed lasting friendships and cherished memories. Wendy pursued a career in the construction industry, where her dedication and expertise shone brightly as a Quality Assurance Specialist.
Known for her spirited and independent nature, Wendy was a force to be reckoned with. Her zest for life was matched only by her unwavering love and devotion to her family. She found immense joy in the company of her husband and son, cherishing every moment spent together. Wendy was a devoted fan of LSU football, often cheering passionately for her team. She found solace in watching movies with her son and shopping with her husband, creating countless cherished memories that will live on in their hearts forever.
Wendy had a vibrant personality that lit up any room she entered. She loved adventure and cherished time spent with her family, especially during vacations filled with laughter and love.
Among her many passions, Wendy found solace in the simplicity of life's pleasures. She loved nothing more than casting a line and feeling the gentle tug of a fish on the line, or savoring the flavor of boiled crawfish among friends and family. Her faithful companion, Oakley, her beloved dog, was a constant source of comfort and joy throughout her life.
Survivors include her loving husband, Gary Durocher; her beloved son, Peyton Durocher; her mother, Brenda Gail Foley; her father, Billy Ray Foley; two sisters, Heather F. Kasee and husband John and Stephany F. Rodock and husband William; one brother, Michael Joe Williams; her maternal grandmother, Billie Lou Moore, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Bobbie Lee Moore.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Peyton Durocher, Mayo Racca, Charles Brignac, Chris Feller, Debra Feller and Billy Ray Foley.

Wendy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched.
